Philly Housing Agency Can't Nix Ex-Chief's Termination Suit

Law360, Philadelphia (September 4, 2012, 5:41 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge Thursday allowed the former Philadelphia Housing Authority head's suit against the agency over his termination to continue, but tossed his claims tied to alleged defamation by the authority's directors.

U.S. District Judge Ronald Buckwalter ruled that former PHA Executive Director Carl Greene lost the right to pursue claims for defamation when he failed to request a name-clearing hearing. But the judge rejected the agency's motion for summary judgment on Greene's breach of contract claims.
