Supreme Court Rejects Microsoft, Best Buy Appeal

Law360, New York (October 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. and Best Buy Co. Inc. will have to face a racketeering case alleging the two companies fraudulently signed up customers for Microsoft's MSN service, after the Supreme Court rejected an appeal on the legal standing of the case.

The justices decided on Monday not to review a ruling by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals that allowed the lawsuit to proceed. The 9th Circuit had reversed a decision by a district judge who had initially dismissed the action.
