Patent Office Reveals Adjusted Fee Proposal Under AIA

Law360, New York (September 5, 2012, 7:40 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday released the patent fees it proposes to charge under the America Invents Act, after adjusting an earlier proposal that some said would set the fees too high.

The USPTO — which was given authority under the AIA to set its own fees to offset the agency’s expenses — unveiled a 213-page proposed rulemaking notice that outlined changes to its existing fee structure.
