Chemical Cos. Are Blocking Carcinogen Report, Scientists Say

Law360, New York (September 5, 2012, 8:06 PM EDT) -- A group of scientists urged U.S. lawmakers on Tuesday to reject a legislative initiative they describe as an attempt to needlessly delay a government report identifying potentially carcinogenic substances, saying the chemical industry is behind the proposal.

Dozens of occupational and environmental health scientists and professionals sent letters to members of the appropriations committees and labor and health subcommittees in the Senate and House of Representatives in support of the National Toxicology Program's biennial report on carcinogens.
