Senate Energy Panel Shake-Up May Put Gas On Front Burner

Law360, New York (October 1, 2012, 10:16 PM EDT) -- Despite hailing from a state with little natural gas production, Sen. Ron Wyden, who's expected to replace the outgoing Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee chairman, has expressed support for the industry’s expansion — a stance experts say could drive the committee’s legislative agenda if he takes over in January.

Democrats are poised to retain control of the Senate following the November elections, meaning Wyden, an Oregon Democrat, would replace New Mexico Sen. Jeff Bingaman, retiring after multiple stints as the committee’s chairman.
