Lenovo Inks $147M Deal To Buy Brazilian Electronics Co.

Law360, New York (September 5, 2012, 10:36 PM EDT) -- China's Lenovo Group Ltd., one of the world's biggest computer manufacturers, has agreed to acquire leading Brazilian electronics company CCE for 300 million Brazilian reais ($147 million), doubling Lenovo's market share in Brazil's booming consumer sector, the buyer announced Wednesday.

The deal gives Lenovo control of a widely recognizable name brand in the world's third largest market for personal computers, a foothold the Chinese PC maker could leverage to build its business in Latin America, Lenovo stated in a disclosure to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange....
