Suzlon Unit Inks Turbine Contract For RWE's $3.9B Farm

Law360, New York (September 5, 2012, 8:23 PM EDT) -- A subsidiary of Suzlon Group announced Wednesday it has snagged the wind turbine contract for the first phase of a massive €3 billion ($3.9 billion) offshore project spearheaded by a unit of German utility RWE AG.

Per the agreement, Suzlon's REpower Systems SE will deliver to RWE Innogy 54 offshore turbines that are rated for its highest manufactured capacity of 6.15 megawatts, meaning each can individually supply more than 6,000 households with electricity, REPower said.
