Conservative Groups Push Congress To Let Wind Tax Credit Die

Law360, New York (September 6, 2012, 9:14 PM EDT) -- A coalition of conservative and free-market interest groups, including the powerful Americans For Prosperity, urged Congress on Thursday to let a popular government incentive for wind energy expire, calling it wasteful and unfair to other industries.

More than 60 organizations told lawmakers in a formal letter not to reauthorize the production tax credit before it expires at the end of 2012, arguing that the wind industry has come to depend on the credit without proving its viability.
