Legal Sector Lost 1,400 Jobs In August, DOL Says

Law360, New York (September 7, 2012, 10:07 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor on Friday reported that the legal services sector lost 1,400 jobs nationwide between July and August, representing relatively flat annual growth in the post-recession years.

As a whole, the U.S. economy added 96,000 jobs in August, but the legal services sector’s dip brought the industry’s total nationwide job count to just under 1.2 million. But that is still 3,200 more legal services jobs than there were in August 2011, according to the Department of Labor.
