Judge Guts Suit Claiming Metals Rival Plucked Trade Secrets

Law360, New York (September 7, 2012, 9:15 PM EDT) -- A Nevada federal judge on Thursday threw out several claims in Global Advanced Metals USA Inc.'s trade secrets case against rival Kemet Blue Powder Corp., finding them preempted by Nevada law and rejecting Global's claim that less restrictive Pennsylvania law should apply instead.

Nevada's Uniform Trade Secrets Act displaces other state laws providing remedies for trade secrets misappropriation, so U.S. District Judge Robert C.
