Ind. Regulator Rips Duke, AEP Transmission Project Offer

Law360, New York (September 7, 2012, 8:08 PM EDT) -- Indiana’s utility regulator urged the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Thursday to reject an offer by a Duke Energy Corp. and American Electric Power Co. joint venture to settle a dispute with a NiSource Inc. affiliate over which can build an Indiana transmission project.

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission told FERC that the settlement offer was “fatally flawed” because it ignored a previous commission order and disregarded Duke’s role in the Reynolds to Greentown MVP, a 66-mile transmission line connecting two electrical substations in Indiana....
