ITC To Probe Symbol Technologies In RFID Brawl

Law360, New York (July 29, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has agreed to investigate charges that Symbol Technologies violated U.S. trade practices by importing electronic devices that infringe patents held by Intermec Technologies Corp.

The patents cover a wireless tracking technology at the center of an industry-wide licensing dispute that has pitted Intermec against other players, which want industry technology standards to be royalty-free.
