Best Buy, LG Hit With Patent Suits Over LED TVs

Law360, New York (September 12, 2012, 10:08 PM EDT) -- A Virginia patent licensing company sued Best Buy Co. Inc. and LG Electronics on Tuesday, claiming that the companies’ sale and importation of LED televisions infringed a patent covering technology improving the brightness of LED.

In separate complaints filed in Virginia federal court, Bluestone Innovations LLC claimed that Best Buy’s Insignia- and Dynex-branded LED backlit televisions and several of LG’s television models contained LED semiconductor components that infringed Bluestone’s patent.
