ITC To Investigate Satellite Tracking Patent Imports

Law360, New York (September 18, 2012, 2:41 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said on Tuesday that it will take a look into allegations by the owner of a satellite tracking patent used in search and rescue operations that a pair of companies are importing merchandise infringing the invention.

The ITC said it would be instituting a Section 337 patent infringement investigation in response to allegations leveled by patent holder BriarTek IP Inc., which claims that DeLorme InReach LLC, which does business as InReach LLC, and Yellowbrick Tracking Ltd. are infringing BriarTek's intellectual property...
