ITC Takes Up Fireplace Co.'s Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (September 19, 2012, 2:12 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission will review a finding that an ex-Twin-Star International Inc. employee violated the Tariff Act when he used stolen proprietary information to start a rival fireplace manufacturer in China, the agency said Wednesday.

The announcement comes after an administrative law judge found in July that former Twin-Star employee Yue Qiu Sheng broke a confidentiality agreement by swiping plans for an electric fireplace prototype as well as customer and supplier lists to launch his own company, Shenzhen Reliap Industrial Co.
