House Clears Bipartisan Bill To Ramp Up Pediatric Research

Law360, New York (September 19, 2012, 9:13 PM EDT) -- The development of new pediatric medicines got a boost Wednesday when the U.S. House of Representatives voted to approve a bill that would increase the funding toward pediatric research and create a network of centers that could quickly test potential treatments.

In a voice vote, the House cleared the National Pediatric Research Network Act, or H.R. 6163. The bill, which has both Republican and Democratic sponsors, would create a network modeled on the National Institutes of Health's National Cancer Institute research centers.
