US Urges Trade Community To Adopt Global Services Accord

Law360, New York (September 19, 2012, 5:23 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Trade Representative on Wednesday encouraged world leaders to work together to hammer out a new agreement reducing trade barriers in the services sector, saying that continued discussion on the matter would be a boon for the global economy.

In a speech before the Coalition of Service Industries 2012 Global Services Summit, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk urged the U.S. and its global trade partners to look into a new international services agreement as a means of boosting multilateral open trade.
