1st-Year Associate Pay At Big Law Firms Drops To $145K

Law360, New York (September 20, 2012, 9:53 PM EDT) -- The National Association for Legal Career Professionals said Thursday that the median salary for first-year associates at large law firms has slumped to $145,000 in 2012, a figure last reported in 2007.

While first-year associate salaries of $160,000 are still prevalent at law firms of more than 700 lawyers, particularly in large markets, the number no longer represents the prevailing salary, according to the NALP.
