AES Eastern Brings In $2M For Shuttered Power Plants

Law360, Wilmington (September 20, 2012, 9:49 PM EDT) -- Bankrupt AES Eastern Energy LP on Wednesday announced a deal to sell its four nonoperational power plants and other related assets to a subsidiary of DSA Services Inc. for $2.25 million, a move that will allow the company to submit a Chapter 11 plan and complete its liquidation.

AES, which once operated six coal-fired power plants in upstate New York, sold its two operational units to bondholders for a $240 million credit bid earlier this year, but had a tougher time finding takers for the others,...
