Kinder Morgan Settles With EPA Over Gas Plant Risk Plans

Law360, New York (September 21, 2012, 3:18 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday announced that a Kinder Morgan Inc. unit had agreed to pay a $316,000 fine and establish new operating procedures to settle claims it had violated risk management plans at two Wyoming natural gas plants.

According to the EPA's announcement, Kinder Morgan Upstream LLC will also improve equipment maintenance and perform integrity tests on pressure vessels to reduce the likelihood of any accidental release of hazardous chemicals at the facilities, located in Casper and Douglas, Wyo., to settle claims of...
