Uphill Battle To Make Partner Getting Steeper, Experts Say

Law360, New York (September 25, 2012, 8:48 PM EDT) -- The number of equity partners at major law firms has fallen as firms confront a challenging economic environment and senior partners hold off on retirement, making it increasingly difficult for associates to make partner, experts said Tuesday.

London-based accountancy firm Wilkins Kennedy LLP on Monday reported that the number of new partnership positions available at U.K. law firms had fallen by 153 within the past year, the first time the number has fallen since the peak of the recession in 2008.
