Chrysler Deal Losing Ground, Needs Worker Approval

Law360 (October 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A deal reached just hours after a nationwide walkout at 48 Chrysler plants teetered on the brink of a breakdown on Monday, after workers at four of eight local United Automobile Workers unions reportedly voted against it.

The union is awaiting the results of votes in six Chrysler plants in Indiana and Michigan, scheduled to take place in the next two days, to see if the four-year employment agreement it struck earlier this month will be carried out, according to various news reports.
