EIB Kicks In £55M For Wind Farm Transmission Link Buy

Law360, New York (September 26, 2012, 7:48 PM EDT) -- The European Investment Bank on Wednesday put up £55 million ($88.8 million) to help Macquarie Capital Group Ltd. and Barclays Infrastructure Funds Management Ltd. purchase a £110 million transmission link that feeds half of the U.K.'s Walney Wind Farm Ltd.

The Macquarie-Barclays consortium, known as Blue Transmission Walney 2 Ltd., represents the sixth award of transmission operating rights for major offshore wind projects under the first round of Britain's competitive bidding process, according to a statement from the EIB, the European Union's long-term lending institution....
