Union Seeks To Halt USDA Drug Testing Of Job Corps Workers

Law360, New York (September 26, 2012, 10:35 PM EDT) -- The National Federation of Federal Employees on Wednesday again pressed a D.C. federal judge to stop the U.S. Department of Agriculture from conducting random, suspicionless drug testing of Job Corps employees, arguing the government can’t justify the invasion of privacy.

In a memorandum in support of its renewed motion for a preliminary injunction, the union asked the court to order the USDA and the U.S. Forest Service to refrain from drug testing many of the Forest Service’s Job Corps employees. The union noted that the D.C....
