Green Groups Sue Canada To Shield Wildlife Along Pipeline

Law360, New York (September 26, 2012, 10:47 PM EDT) -- A coalition of environmental groups sued the Canadian government Tuesday, arguing that it has failed to implement the Species at Risk Act and to protect wildlife along Enbridge Inc.'s proposed Northern Gateway pipeline and shipping route.

Nonprofit environmental law firm Ecojustice Canada brought the suit in federal court, on behalf of conservation groups David Suzuki Foundation, Greenpeace Canada, Sierra Club B.C., Wilderness Committee and Wildsight, according to Ecojustice.
