Enviro Says Pa. DEP Is Shirking Gas Well Inspections

Law360, Philadelphia (September 27, 2012, 7:08 PM EDT) -- A new report released Wednesday by the environmental advocacy group Earthworks ripped the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for failing to conduct recommended annual inspections at tens of thousands of oil and gas wells throughout the state.

With the natural gas industry booming in Pennsylvania, the report said the department was failing to abide by its internal inspection policies recommending that wells be inspected at least once a year during production.
