Survey Says In-House Legal Spending Is Up 5%

Law360, New York (September 27, 2012, 4:59 PM EDT) -- Companies worldwide are spending more in their legal departments, suggesting a normalization of in-house legal spending levels that have been on the decline for the past three years, according to an annual survey by HBR Consulting released Thursday.

The 260 companies that participated in the 2012 HBR Law Department survey said they increased their total legal spending by 5 percent from 2010 to 2011, which is a change from the 1 percent and 3 percent declines in legal spending reflected in the two previous surveys, HBR...
