White House Speeds Review Of $1.4B Minneapolis Rail Plan

Law360, New York (October 1, 2012, 7:20 PM EDT) -- The Obama administration on Monday pledged to speed up the review and permitting process for an $1.4 billion light rail project that aims to connect Minneapolis' southwestern suburbs to the urban center as well as to other regional transit lines crisscrossing the Twin Cities area.

The proposed Southwest Light Rail Transitway, which is slated to enter service in 2017, should have all of its federal permits in place by 2017, according to a statement from the White House.
