Device Cos. Take Aim At Tax While Guarding FDA User Fees

Law360, New York (October 1, 2012, 3:44 PM EDT) -- Heading into Congress' lame-duck session, the medical device industry is preparing to push lawmakers to repeal a $30 billion excise tax and protect the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's user fees, the main industry group said Monday.

The Advanced Medical Technology Association will be “laser-focused” on repealing the tax, part of the Affordable Care Act, AdvaMed's CEO Stephen Ubl said during the organization's annual conference.
