NH Urges Court Not To Block Access To Hep C Outbreak Docs

Law360, New York (October 3, 2012, 8:03 PM EDT) -- The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesday asked a state court not to block its access to Exeter Hospital Inc. medical records, saying it needs them for an investigation of a laboratory technician who allegedly infected 32 hospital patients with hepatitis C.

According to a memorandum backing the department’s objection to the hospital’s motion for a protective order, it still needs access to hospital records to continue tracking down the scope of the hepatitis outbreak, after discovering the lab tech, David Kwiatkowski,...
