Rothstein Pal Gets 4 Years For Role In $1.2B Fraud

Law360, New York (October 3, 2012, 7:33 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Wednesday sentenced an associate of Ponzi fraudster Scott Rothstein known as "Uncle Bill" to four years in prison and ordered him to pay $166 million for his part in the $1.2 billion scheme selling shares in sham legal investments.

U.S. District Judge Kenneth A. Marra sentenced William Boockvor, 67, of Deerfield Beach, Fla., to 48 months in prison plus three years of probation. The judge also ordered Boockvor to pay $166 million in restitution, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for...
