House Leaders Demand HHS Stop E-Records Payments

Law360, New York (October 4, 2012, 7:56 PM EDT) -- The leaders of the House committees that oversee Medicare issued a blistering attack on the electronic health records incentive program Thursday, saying it had failed to promote interoperability and demanding payments immediately be halted.

The committee leaders, all Republican, say the meaningful use standards have been woefully inadequate and the billions of dollars spent so far have been squandered.
