DOE Approves LNG Exports For Qatar, Exxon Venture

Law360, New York (October 5, 2012, 1:09 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Energy has given Golden Pass Products LLC, a natural gas import and distribution firm backed by state-run Qatar Petroleum International and ExxonMobil Corp., the go-ahead to export domestically made products to foreign trade allies, Golden Pass said Tuesday.

Golden Pass constructed and now operates a liquefied natural gas terminal and pipeline at Sabine Pass, Texas, facility, which was set up by Qatar Petroleum and Exxon in 2005 to take advantage of U.S. dependence on foreign energy sources.
