Law360, New York (October 9, 2012, 4:21 PM EDT) -- Rhode Island announced Friday that it would become one of the first states to require that all health care workers and volunteers who have direct contact with patients get the flu vaccine, a policy idea that has been recommended by public health officials and fought by unions.
The Rhode Island Department of Health said the policy would help stop the flu from spreading to patients in health care facilities.
