Interior Advances Anschutz Unit's Wyo. Wind Energy Project

Law360, New York (October 9, 2012, 5:34 PM EDT) -- The Interior Department on Tuesday opened some 220,000 acres of land in southern Wyoming to wind energy development, paving the way for a subsidiary of Anschutz Corp. to build a sprawling, 1,000-turbine wind install in the region.

The agency determined that two 100,000-acre-plus sites were suitable for wind development — a decision that authorizes the Bureau of Land Management to proceed with its review of a 3,000-megawatt wind project proposed by Power Company of Wyoming LLC.
