Visy CEO Exits In Wake Of Scandal

Law360, New York (October 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Amid a price-fixing scandal, the chief executive of VISY Industries Ltd. has resigned from his post following a cartel controversy in the Australian cardboard industry.

VISY Chief Executive Harry Debney announced on Thursday that he is vacating the top position at the Australian packaging giant, according to the Courier-Mail.

The move came only a week after the company and owner Richard Pratt settled charges of engaging in illegal cartel activities with rival Amcor Ltd., choosing to accept a $36 million fine rather than battle it out...
