EU Court Repeals €85M Fine For Italian Cartel

Law360, New York (October 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A European court on Thursday repealed an €85 million fine the European Commission levied against 11 Italian companies accused of arranging a cartel in the market for concrete reinforcement bars for over a decade.

The EC's decision was based on a law that had expired when the Commission imposed the fine in December 2002, the European Court of First Instance ruled on Thursday.
