Unions Losing Negotiating Foothold In Auto Industry

Law360, New York (October 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The slim margin by which members of the United Auto Workers ratified a four-year contract agreement with Chrysler LLC is indication that in the troubled auto industry, unions are having a harder time negotiating with companies, pointing to what could be a bumpy ride for future negotiations, including the union's ongoing negotiations with Ford Motor Co.
