Weyerhaeuser Wins Judgment In Worker Firearm Suit

Law360 (October 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An appeals court has reversed a district court's ruling in favor of a former Weyerhaeuser Co. employee who sued the forest products giant after he was fired for possessing a firearm that was uncovered during a drug check at work.

In a decision handed down Thursday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, a three-judge panel said that the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma incorrectly tossed Weyerhaeuser's complaint seeking a declaratory judgment against plaintiff Jimmie Wyatt.
