OneBeacon Atty Emails To Ex-ACE Workers Privileged: Judge

Law360, New York (October 11, 2012, 4:11 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge on Wednesday refused to force OneBeacon U.S. Holdings Inc. to turn over emails between its in-house counsel and eight employees it purportedly poached from ACE American Insurance Co., saying the communications are privileged.

In a case surrounding the allegedly poached workers and pilfered trade secrets, U.S. District Judge Paul S. Diamond said in an order that, despite ACE’s arguments to the contrary, the emails are protected by attorney-client privilege.
