Law360, New York (October 15, 2012, 2:06 PM EDT) -- A recent judgment by the English Court of Appeal confirms the broad jurisdiction of the courts in England and Wales to hear “follow-on” damages actions in cartel cases. This judgment in particular demonstrates that a claim may be brought in England and Wales notwithstanding that none of the companies fined for their involvement in the cartel by the European Commission are domiciled there.
