Apple's IPad Camera Light Rips Off LED Patents, Suit Says

Law360, New York (October 12, 2012, 1:52 PM EDT) -- A patent-holding company hit Apple Inc. with an infringement lawsuit in Delaware federal court Thursday, claiming the camera light on the newest iPad ripped off four patents for illumination through light-emitting diodes.

LED Tech Development LLC says the LED lights built into the iPad — known colloquially as the iPad 3 — and other Apple products infringe several different designs for using the technology to power portable flashlights and camera lights.
