Mexico Challenges Chinese Textile Subsidies At WTO

Law360, New York (October 15, 2012, 3:54 PM EDT) -- The Mexican government said Monday that it has lodged a complaint against China at the World Trade Organization, arguing that state subsidies given to companies in the Chinese textile industry violate WTO rules.

Mexico requested formal consultations with China — the first step in the WTO's dispute resolution process — over complaints that the Asian country is unfairly subsidizing its textile and apparel industry, according to a statement from Mexico's Ministry of Economy.
