Ford Recalls 155K Fiestas Over Side Air Bag Danger

Law360, New York (October 16, 2012, 2:31 PM EDT) -- Ford Motor Co. is voluntarily recalling about 155,000 Fiestas to fix a problem with side air bags that will not deploy in the event of a side-impact collision when the front passenger seat is empty, putting passengers in the rear at risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Monday.

Certain model year 2011-13 Fiesta vehicles, manufactured from Nov. 3, 2009, through Sept. 21 are being recalled because they fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards regarding occupant crash protection, the NHTSA said.
