Indiana, Kentucky Reach Deal On $2.6B Bridge Financing

Law360, New York (October 16, 2012, 7:05 PM EDT) -- Transportation officials in Kentucky and Indiana finalized a deal Monday to finance a long-delayed $2.6 billion venture adding two bridges over the Ohio River between the two states, clearing a final hurdle for the controversial project.

The states are slated to begin construction on the bridges in 2014 and finish them by 2024, under the direction of a bi-state commission, but the project has been stalled for nearly 15 years as costs have risen and environmental groups have lashed out against the plans.
