First Solar Wins 1st Phase Of Dubai's 1,000-MW Solar Debut

Law360, New York (October 17, 2012, 5:55 PM EDT) -- First Solar Inc. will build a 13-megawatt plant in Dubai, the first leg of an eventual 1,000-MW solar park that the Middle Eastern principality hopes will be the cornerstone of its fledgling renewable energy program, the company said Wednesday.

The Arizona-based solar developer beat five other bidders for the project, including Hong Kong-based developer Gatoson Holdings Ltd.
