Spain Fines 6 Paper Cos. €3.7M Over Envelope Export Cartel

Law360, New York (October 17, 2012, 4:46 PM EDT) -- Spain's antitrust watchdog has fined six paper manufacturing companies €3.7 million ($4.9 million) for running a three-decade-long envelope exporting cartel, the agency said Wednesday.

The National Competition Commission, known by its Spanish acronym CNC, decided Monday to penalize Unipapel SA, Antalis Envelopes Manufacturing SL and others for agreeing to fix prices and divvy up market shares of envelope exports to certain countries over a 30-year period.
