GCs Predict Slow Growth In Outside Counsel Spending

Law360, New York (October 17, 2012, 5:16 PM EDT) -- The contraction in the market for outside counsel services is expected to continue through 2013 despite modest gains in spending, as corporate clients increasingly slash budgets by in-sourcing their legal needs, a new report on corporate legal spending says.

Although total spending on outside counsel is slowly climbing back to pre-financial crisis levels, corporate counsel are continuing to shift dollars in-house and away from outside counsel, and proportional spending on law firms has dropped to its lowest level since 2004, according to the Premium Practices Forecast...
