GOP Rep. Presses White House For Offshore Drilling Ban Info

Law360, New York (October 17, 2012, 9:46 PM EDT) -- The Republican head of a U.S. House committee went to the White House chief of staff Wednesday to demand documents on the Obama administration’s 2010 offshore drilling ban he claims administration officials have refused to turn over.

House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings, R-Wash., sent a letter to Chief of Staff Jacob Lew seeking emails and other materials he said could reveal the administration deliberately misrepresented a prominent engineering group’s position on the moratorium.
