Catholic Health Systems Eye Nationwide Network With Merger

Law360, New York (October 18, 2012, 2:41 PM EDT) -- Catholic health care systems Trinity Health and Catholic Health East intend to launch a merger that will create a nationwide health care system with $13.3 billion in annual operating revenues and $19.3 billion in assets, the companies said Wednesday.

The health care providers signed a nonbinding letter of intent for a consolidation which, if followed to fruition, will unify 82 hospitals and 89 continuing care facilities and home health and hospice programs, according to a joint statement.
